- Fiction365 is a pretty cool website – this was my first foray into being published. As a budding, terrified person who had just gotten into Iowa, I was grateful they accepted “Dr. Doolittle Does Too Little”, a bizarre story about a suicidal kittycat. Even though it has no ending, I like it enough that I read it at Anthology, with the result that the lovely Nana Nkweti keeps asking me to finish it. (“But she would have to die NINE TIMES,” I say, and Nana just cackles like a witch.)
- Transportation in Germany While living in Germany, I once came home for Christmas. It was great to see everyone, but Monday came around and they all had to work, and I wound up sitting in our cold suburban house, bored and wrathful with no escape. Bored and wrathful is, it turns out, a prolific mood for me. I wrote an editorial for the Star Tribune and incurred a lot of interesting emails. Not all of them were crazy, actually – I only got one “WELL IF YOU LIKE IT SO MUCH WHY DON’T YOU JUST STAY THERE”.
